The Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary arrived in Wieleń in 1933. At that time they started their service at a St. Joseph’s Center where they provided assistance to those in need.

the Ostrowo property was purchased from the Railroad Association in Warsaw

the first Residents arrived from Warsaw (after six months 700 people lived in the Center)

1934

1 July

a chapel situated on the premises of the Center was consecrated

1935

19 March

a day care room for the Residents of the Center was opened

1936

The utility facilities of the Center were expanded

1939

1 September

the outbreak of World War II. Some of the buildings belonging to the Center were damaged when a nearby bridge was blown up

1940

6 December

the Residents of the Center were evacuated to Warsaw

1945

20 April

the surviving Residents returned to the Center in Wieleń, which had been saved thanks to the work of Sisters who remained here throughout the occupation

1952

August

a Center for Incurably Ill is established next to the Welfare Center for Adults

1998

14 April

on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of the town and the 890th anniversary of the stronghold of Wieleń, the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary received from the Town Council of Wieleń an award For distinguished service to the town and commune of Wieleń

2001

15 March

the Management transformed the institution from a Social Welfare and Health Care Center reporting to the Greater Poland Patients’ Fund into a Nursing Home

2003

16 September

the first internal audit was conducted on the 70th anniversary of the purchase of the Monastic House

21 October

an ISO Quality Management System certificate was awarded

14 November

the ISO Quality Management System certificate was given (during a conference held at the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Social Policy in Warsaw)

2004

9 November

Polskie Centrum Badań i Certyfikacji S.A. (Polish Center for Testing and Certification, a joint-stock company) in Warsaw awarded to the Nursing Home a bronze commemorative medal for co-operation, involvement and continuous self-improvement effected through promotion of the idea of quality and its implementation by means of introducing management systems, training employees, and obtaining certificates and quality marks

2005

14 March

the Executive Committee of the Management Board of the Provincial Association of Voluntary Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland in Poznań awarded to the Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary in Wieleń a Silver medal for distinguished service for fire protection and safety

2006

22-24 October

an audit aimed at renewal of the Quality Management System Certificate was conducted at the Nursing Home. As a result, the Nursing Home run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary in Wieleń received again the Quality Management System Certificate for care and therapeutic activities, medical and rehabilitation activities, and activities of daily living. The IQNet certificate was also awarded. The Certificates were issued by Polskie Centrum Badań i Certyfikacji (Polish Center for Testing and Certification) in Warsaw, and their validity period was from 23 November 2006 till 22 November 2009.

27 December

the Voivode of Wielkopolskie Province issued a permit to run the Nursing Home as Associated Nursing Homes: – for elderly people, – for chronically somatically ill persons, – for physically disabled individuals, – for mentally impaired adults. The permit is valid for an indefinite period of time

2007

the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary celebrated in Wieleń the 150th anniversary of the establishment of their Congregation

2009

11 October

the Founder of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary was canonized during a Mass celebrated in St. Peter’s Square in Rome. His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI declared that Blessed Zygmunt Szczęsny Feliński, an apostle of peace and national reconciliation, a minder of orphans, the poor, and exiles, a worshipper of the Most Holy Mother, a Franciscan tertiary, was a saint

18-20 November

an audit aimed at renewal of the Quality Management System Certificate was carried out at the Associated Nursing Homes pursuant to a new standard: PN-EN ISO 9001:2009

the Testing and Certification Director of Polskie Centrum Badań i Certyfikacji S.A. (Polish Center for Testing and Certification, a joint-stock company) in Warsaw decided to award for the third time a certificate to the Associated Nursing Homes run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary in Wieleń, for another three years

W naszym mieście odbyły się III Targi Produktu Lokalnego „Z natury najlepsze”, podczas których z rąk Pani Burmistrz Wielenia Elżbiety Rybarczyk Nagrodę “Drzewo” Burmistrza Wielenia dla Przedsiębiorcy Roku, kategoria – „EKSTRA” odebrała Dyrekcja naszego Domu – Siostra Dyrektor Ewa Pollus i Zastępca Dyrektora Siostra Barbara Borowiak.

Uczesticzymy w obchodach 1050 lat pierwszego na ziemiach polskich, Biskupstwa Poznańskiego. W tym roku obchodzimy też 100 rocznicę odzyskania niepodległości przez Polskę.
